update:july. 2008, MVVS users sometimes have interesting stories to tell, or use their engines in ways nobody else dreams of. Whichever way you look at it, these projects show ultimate perseverance and insight in the possibilities of the available materials. To venture across different avenues, or even try to walk someone elses shoes for a while and get aquainted with their brain childs, I hope the links presented here will be appreciated. Pleasant reading. |

| Carl Olsson | Carl Olsson is a joung Swedish pilot, who likes to fly Imac and freestyle with gas engines. His setup is a Yak with MVVS 1.60 engine on tuned pipe, new improved style. After some initial teething problems, he is not doing bad at all in IMAC and freestyle judging by the first places and runner-ups he gained so far |

Minizepp |
Minizepp is a Swiss guy, dedicated to tethered balloons and remote
controlled Zeppelins, which can be equipped with also remote controlled
video and camera gear to
take aerial photography. A small film fragment cut from his huge video film, so I can put it on display here, shows the use of two MVVS 3094 gas engines. To visit the full works of this hardworking genius, take a look at Philippe Minizepp MVVS gang on 8m craft ; One for the road ; airborne Next is a 12m craft using twin 58cc engines; WOW! |
Laurens Verwoerd
|
If you are in to brute power machines like Tractors,
this may be your piece op cake. For pulling competition, large specials
are built using gas turbines, and ganged airplane engines for traction
power. Laurens Verwoerd set out to duplicate one of these monsters. The real thing (Popeye) is sponsored by the Q8 oil firm. For the model, Laurens uses three MVVS 3070 old type pylon engines for power. These engines now use the quickie cylinder sets, that just happened to fit. See his latest news , and test runs His web page is in Dutch, but still may give you an impression what can be done if you set your mind to it. So why not just pay him a visit GRRT engine 1988 vintage What happens when using "normal" 0.02mm big end play at 30.000 rpm?? Watch it here. The item was solved by increasing the play to 0.05mm |
| Geerlings RC-1 and RC-X (john wears glasses) | Other than the well trodden OS path, John chose for a MVVS gas
engine in his 2x2 RC1 airframe. Not a 1.60 glow engine, which he could
have done like every one else, he went one step up and chose petrol (gas)
power for ease of operation and low operating cost. In the last RCX contest
he took 4th place out of 23. Not bad John, not bad at all. How to install a gasser? He uses a standard rubber mount isolated backplate, and the cylinder in the 7 o'clock position to bring the tuned pipe lined up with the hull tunnel.

| Winfried de Vries | Winfried plans the 58cc engine for an Extra 300 of 240cm span, and has the mount and motor fitted to his test plane for running in and getting familiar with the ins and outs of the engine. He sent in a fine picture of his setup . It uses 6 rubber mounts and a hydraulic damper, like many 1.60 Aerobatic planes use. |
| Daniel Dion | An Imac pilot, Daniel also does not mind the competetion, and
walks his own trail. Nice Job you did too Daniel. set-up . Plane |
| Bongers, Funtana 90 / MVVS 160 | 3D project with Funtana90, a 1.60 mvvs gas engine, Krumscheid 35cc canister and Menz-S 18x6 prop |
| Andy Bolle, Glider towing duties | Andy had a bit of bad luck with shipping delays. Judging by the pictures, he made good use of the extra time he had before the 45cc mag case engine came in. |
Glen Ure, Australia ![]() |
Glen is a great downunder pilot, showing off his 37 pounds Yak, fitted with a 116cc MVVS boxer engine, 29x12 menz prop at 6100 rpm . |
